New Year, Better Me

The ball drops at midnight each year, and people all around the world declare “new year, new me”. The lists of resolutions and goals are long and full of hope for a successful year. But did you know that roughly 80% of New Year's Resolutions fail? Yup, crazy.

Majority of the time, the goals and resolutions are unrealistic and overwhelming, so the tendency to give up not long into the new year is inevitable, and by the end of the year you are still in the same place you were on January 1st.

That’s why this year the phrase you should be saying instead is, “new year, better me”. 2022 is the year of BETTERING yourself, not completely changing yourself. Take the pressure off of yourself to be a “new” you, and instead, strive to be better. It’s time to create new habits, boundaries and goals, all with the mindset and intentions of bettering who you are now, in this moment!

WHAT NEXT?

My advice? Set a theme and word(s) of the year!

I want to share what I came up with as an example to help get your creative juices flowing! I thought long and hard about what I want to accomplish this year, and the words that came to mind were:
Clarity. Boundaries. Simplicity. Force.

PURPOSE

𝗜’𝗺 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲, I don’t doubt myself or my abilities. I know what I’m doing, and I’m fully equipped to help others find theirs.

BOUNDARIES

Boundaries are set. You’re blocked because I don’t allow just anyone into my home, it doesn’t mean you have permission to come in another way. If you stumbled here for the wrong reasons and try to stick around, I’m not living in an echo chamber, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

SIMPLICITY

We can all agree that life is hard enough as it is, yeah? Let’s stop making it harder. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲.  Simple systems, simple habits, simple moves.

FORCE

𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲. I don’t back down easily, and any road block thrown in my way just catapults me into even more positive and focused action. No one can derail me.

Now it’s your time to shine! Just remember, nothing changes if nothing changes. The growth you want to see happen in your life won’t happen if you don’t put the work in and take action.

“New year, better me” is the motto this year, and I wish you luck on your journey to better yourself! Work hard, be grateful, and go crush your goals!

Here’s to 2022.🥂
