Fall Fashion Splurge vs. Steal
I am really excited to hit publish on this post. because honestly, this is something I’m asked about a lot: my favorite fashion finds. Where I find the staple items in my closet, which pieces I typically splurge on and what’s worth dropping a few extra dollars on and what’s not.
along with listing some of my favs, I thought it would be fun to do a side by side comparison of some of the best dupes I’ve found for each. I’m all about great quality dupes for more expensive items. So here we go.
01. Leggings
First up, a super important member of any woman’s closet. really awesome leggings. In my opinion, and as someone who has dropped way too much money on leggings that promise to be the best dupe, theAlignsare it. Nothing compares. Buttery and soft, wear well, not too tight in the stomach. But at the $98 price tag, it’s not for everyone.
The best comparable pair at half the price? These, from Aerie. Both run TTS, I wear an 8 or 10 in the Aligns, and a M or L in the steals from Aerie. When in doubt, size up.
02. Every day boots
I love a good pair of Doc Martens. Timeless, great quality, look good with everything. However, the price tag isn’t for everyone!
For the dupe, These are SO CUTE. Grabbed them from Target, they run TTS, and they’re ridiculously comfortable.
03. Denim
I’m a denim snob mainly for the fact that not a lot of denim fits my body the way I’d like. I’m a solid size 8/10, so I’m particular about brands, stretch, and fit.
My favorite minimal stretch (more rigid) jeans are hands down, these two styles from Agolde, the Nico High Rise and the Riley High Rise Straight Crop. I wear a 29 or 30 in these. they have a button fly (which I love), stretch but don’t stretch out, and they just feel good on. I’m so confident in these! But, they’re at the high end, around $200.
The Best steal I’ve found for these? One pair from Old Navy, and another style from Gap. My only (and I mean only) complaint? They are more rigid without the form fitting stretch you find in the Agolde. which means they don’t hold their shape as well throughout the day. Other than that, worth every penny.
04. Cream blush
Y’all have seen me post about this brand before, and I love, love, love their cream blush (I wear the color “sun touched”). I love the refillable packaging, the color, and the longwear. i love the easy use, and that the brand is certified organic and sustainable. But at $56, most of my followers begged for a steal.
I found a cream blush dupe! And at exactly half the price, it performs similarly. The long wear power of this one isn’t as great, but I love the easier application. It’s also a Cruelty-Free, Paraben-Free and Vegan brand, which I can appreciate!
05. Wide Brim Hat
Without a doubt, Lack of Color is my favorite hat brand. They hold their shape, have three sizes (S-L), and they’re quality made, easily lasting you a lifetime. The price is around $130, which a lot of people aren’t willing to spend on an accessory. So, I have only one steal option for you!
It’s this one from Urban Outfitters. My only complaint? It’s one size fits all, and it’s a little big for me (I wear a small in Lack of Color hats). But, you can head to Amazon for some adhesive foam to stick in the inside of the brim to make it more custom to your head.
06. overshirt/jacket
Does anything beat a flattering, comfortable jacket in the fall time? the answer is no. I love a piece like this jacket from free people that can be dressed up or down, and worn throughout autumn and winter in multiple ways. at $128, it’s on the pricier side, so I was excited to find an awesome dupe.
This off-white, oversized jacket from asos is super similar in style and can be a ton of fun to style this season.
Let me know if you guys enjoyed seeing these splurges and dupes! Shoot me a dm on IG or tag me in your stories if you pull the trigger and decide to snag any of them.
