Let's Chat About Bora Bora. Earned, Not Won.
If you’ve been following my journey lately, you may have noticed I earned a trip to bora bora through my company. Earned, not won. Winning something means you got lucky when your name was pulled from a hat randomly. earning something means something entirely different. .
The people who got to attend the bora bora trip did so through a point based system that spans over the course of one year. I earned points based solely off of my ability to be a team leader, helping others to reach their business goals.
why does that matter? because I’m nothing in this business and nothing as a leader if i can’t help others find what they’re after - whether it’s financial freedom, time freedom, community, building a brand that monat is a part of, etc.
when I was in high school, we took a trip out West and climbed Uncompahgre Peak, a 14,321 foot summit that took us two days to reach.
Did someone reach the summit first? Yup.
Did it matter? Nope.
It didn’t matter until every single one of us made it to the top. Cheers below, reaching hands, words of encouragement, and it didn’t matter who was first and who was last to scramble up. What mattered was that we did it together.
That’s what this business is.
There’s room for all of us at the top, room for all of us to reach our own goals, and they’re different for everyone. My job? What got me to Bora Bora? Figuring out what everyone on my team wanted and helping them map out a plan to get there.
This trip is earned by the top leaders in the company, not the ones making the most money, not the ones with the most instagram followers, not the ones who build off the backs of other people (which, let’s face it— that’s not even a thing 😂).
It’s earned by those who lead.
the ones who lead consistently and well, the ones who show up when they don’t feel like it, the ones who take the hits, the ones who accept that shit rolls uphill in this business, the ones who are committed to showing others what they’re capable of, and the ones who stay to clean up and turn the lights off every night.
The pressure is greatest here, but the reward is so incredibly worth it.
and my next goal to crush? Building leaders who take my spot on the next Elite trip. I won’t stop.
Have you been thinking about starting in this business yourself? If so, let me offer the following advice:
you never know how one simple “yes” changes everything.
an open mind can open so many doors.
yes, I worked really hard to earn this. but it all started with me being willing to try something new. ☀️
