My Affordable Gym Fashion Favorites
If you’ve been following my fitness journey over on Instagram, you know my relationship with working out has been a work in progress! But I’ve got to say… 🥵
I’m SO FREAKIN PROUD OF MYSELF.
👉for advocating for myself.
👉for showing up, even when it was hard.
👉for giving it years, not months, to see progress.
Consistently showing up to the gym and committing to taking care of your health, is not generally a habit that forms overnight. It takes persistence, and learning an entirely new way of living. So if this is a journey you’re also on, and you’re not giving up, I’m proud of you!
Before I share a few of my favorite gym fashion finds, here are a few tips* I’d love to share, in case they’re of help to someone reading this.
My best health related advice + tips ⬇️
01. First and foremost, pain with periods isn’t normal.
Please advocate for yourself if you’re dealing with this and search around to find a doctor in your area who will listen to you. Chronic pain can cause depression, irritability and insomnia, all things I struggled with. You deserve to feel well, and you deserve to have a healthcare provider who takes your concerns seriously. Don’t stop asking questions and advocating for yourself until you find a doctor who listens to you.
02. Increase your fiber intake.
Honestly, this can feel like a full time job sometimes. But, I’ve found that it’s the most beneficial thing you can do for your body. Fiber contributes to blood sugar control, decreased cholesterol, weight control, a healthy gut, reduced diabetes risk, weight loss, heart health, chronic inflammation, and can decrease your risk for colorectal cancers. Pretty incredible, isn’t it? The benefits are well worth the hassle of hitting your fiber goals every day.
Here are a few ways I incorporate fiber into my diet:
Avocados
Raspberries
Fiber rich cereal
Oats
Apples
I also take supplements to bridge the gap too!
03. Challenge yourself in the gym with weights
Lifting heavy weights has been a game-changer for my fitness journey. This didn’t come naturally for me, but it’s made a huge difference in terms of toning and overall fitness. I lift heavy, and I am super consistent. I also suggest finding an accountability partner so you’re more apt to show up when you don’t feel like it!
04. Additional tips*
Increase your protein intake.
Increase your water intake.
Track your macros.
Remember that it can take YEARS to see the change. Keep going!
You’ve got this… 💪🏼
