5 Tips For iPhone Self Portraits
Let’s chat iPhone self portraits. Listen, I know how awkward taking self portraits can be if you’re not used to doing them. Where do you put your hands? How do you get light that isn’t awful? What expression do you make that doesn’t look goofy?
The thing is, as a small business owner, a content creator, or really anyone who uses social media and wants decent photos of themselves to post, learning this skill is super helpful! So I’m shedding light on my 5 best tips for taking self portraits on your iPhone. Let’s dive in!
🗣01. shoot on live view. it’s more forgiving when looking for an expression that you like.
🗣02. turn off all artificial lights. it doesn’t matter if you think you need them, if it’s overcast outside, etc. that gross yellow cast from artificial lighting is never flattering.
🗣03. use a tripod. you can find them for less than $50 on amazon. I used to prop my phone up on books or ledges or even tape it to a window, and it’s such a waste of time and effort 🤣 get the tripod. and set on 3 second timer for multiple takes!
🗣04. stand in front of or next to a window. natural light is the most beautiful and forgiving. if you can’t be directly next to a window, open the shades fully to help!
🗣05. move 👏🏼 your 👏🏼 body. you won’t know your most flattering angles until you move and try different things. no one is judging, it’s not awkward, and it’s a great way to be comfortable with self-expression.
